Bespoke Granite & Quartz Worktops
Granite and Quartz Worktops for Colchester Homes
Only 60 Miles From Our Showroom
We are an independent, family run workshop working out of Biggleswade, supplying and fitting granite and quartz worktops for Colchester on a regular basis. Templating, fabrication and fitting are all handled in house, so you deal with the same people from the first measure to the final fit. That matters more than it sounds, it means fewer handovers and fewer things going wrong along the way. Our customers in Colchester range from homeowners doing a full kitchen refit to landlords, developers and small businesses fitting out a commercial space. We regularly quote for landlords preparing rental properties in Colchester, as well as homeowners simply replacing a tired old worktop.
I'm really pleased with my new granite worktops. Dave is a lovely chap, very knowledgeable and did a super job fitting them. I recommend Passion for Granite, and would definitely use them again. It's much nicer than dealing with a large company.

Supplying Homes and Trade Projects in Colchester
Colchester properties range from smaller terraced kitchens to substantial open plan extensions, and granite and quartz both do well depending on which you’re working with. Granite works particularly nicely in older or more traditional kitchens, where its natural veining and colour depth suit the setting. Quartz is usually the stronger choice for bigger, more modern layouts, where a consistent surface across a longer run of worktop looks tidier. We quote both options for every Colchester kitchen so you can compare properly before committing either way. Semi detached and terraced homes across Colchester make up a good share of our work, most going for a straightforward granite or quartz upgrade.

The Passion for Granite Guarantee
Resealing granite once a year is enough to keep it resistant to oil, wine and general staining, and it's a straightforward job. Quartz doesn't need sealing at all, a wipe with warm soapy water keeps it in good order. Where a kitchen or commercial unit sees heavy daily use, that lower maintenance often makes quartz the sensible choice, although granite still holds strong appeal for its natural look. Heat resistance is good on both, though direct contact with very hot pans should still be avoided.
- breakfast bar and kitchen island surfaces, supported properly and finished flush so there is no lip between sections.
- splashback and upstand replacements for older kitchens, matched as closely as possible to your existing worktop where it isn't being replaced.
- commercial counters and reception desks, built to handle daily wear in shops, salons and offices without losing their finish.

We can work from drawings, rough measurements, or just photos of the space, and will return an itemised quote covering supply, fabrication and fitting, with lead times set out clearly from the start. If you’d like to see and choose your slab in person rather than from a sample, our Biggleswade workshop is open for visits, and there’s no pressure to make a decision on the spot. We’ll flag early on if your chosen stone has a longer lead time than usual.
